Uganda’s biggest celebration of digital creativity is back — and this year, we’re coming home. DigiArt Fest 2025 spotlights the very best of Ugandan content, showcasing a new wave of storytelling, animation, comics, and cosplay in one immersive experience under the theme “Unlikely Connections.”
From cinema screenings to industry panels, live performances, and an epic after party, this year’s edition promises to be our boldest yet.
What to Expect
Cinema Showcase
Catch the big screen premiere of Cartoons from the Source of the Nile — a uniquely Ugandan animated series by Katoto Studio, celebrating homegrown stories and visuals.
Imagine film - a ground-breaking, co-created animated film blending indigenous knowledge with cutting edge technology. Following 15 year old Kim and their alien canine companion Jeff, the story explores identity, freedom and a world on the brink of collapse.
Animation Jam (Aug 28–29)
Aspiring animators from across institutions will participate in a 2-day creative sprint led by Katoto Studio. The winning animations will premiere during the festival — a moment of pride for the next generation of storytellers.

We unveil the winners of this year’s powerful storytelling competition. Expect inspiration, recognition, and great prizes.
Unlikely Connections Panel
A thought-provoking conversation with industry experts, exploring surprising collaborations and the future of African storytelling.

After Party at Yujo Izakaya
The night ends with a cosplay competition and celebration at Yujo Japanese Restaurant, Nakasero. Come dressed, come alive.
